New CaneyISD offers you a comprehensive benefits package to achieve this goal. You have several options to enhance your understanding and evaluation of this package.
IMPORTANT: Effective beginning on January 1, 2011, over-the-counter medicines or drugs (e.g. Advil, Ibuprofen, cough syrup) are not eligible for reimbursement under an FSA, without a doctor’s prescription. Insulin is the only medicine that doesn’t require a prescription. Also supplies that you need for medical care (e.g. contact lens solutions, bandages for wounds, thermometers) will continue to be eligible for reimbursement.
As such, upcoming enrollment in your employer’s flexible spending account should take into consideration as of 1/1/2011, over the counter items will no longer be reimbursable under the health FSA.

Things to Remember for 2010-2011

  1. NEW CANEY ISD Cafeteria plan year is September 1, 2010 through August 31, 2011.

    IMPORTANT: These accounts are “USE IT OR LOSE IT.” Effective beginning on January 1, 2011, over-the-counter medicines or drugs will no longer eligible for reimbursement under an FSA without a doctor’s prescription. Plan your contributions carefully! For additional information refer to the benefit highlights tab/reimbursement plan.

  2. MGM is the Third Party Administrator (TPA) for NEW CANEY ISD for plan year September 1, 2010 through August 31, 2011. Direct deposit is available for flexible spending accounts.


  3. Dental: Guardian is the dental provider for New Caney ISD employees, effective 9/1/10. For plan and rate information click on the benefit highlights tab / Dental


  4. Vision: CompBenefits is the vision provider for New Caney ISD employees, effective 9/1/10. For plan and rate information click on the benefit highlights tab / Vision


  5. Disability: Unum Disability Educator Select Income Protextion Plan is offered to employees of New Caney ISD. During the annual enrollment period, employees can increase or add disability coverage without providing evidence of insurability! New coverage amounts or changes are subject to pre-existing condition limitations. See plan information under the benefit highlight tab for details on plan options and benefit changes.


  6. Cancer: Loyal American is the cancer plan provider for New Caney ISD employees, effective 9/1/10. For plan and rate information click on the benefit highlights tab / Cancer


  7. Hospital Indemnity: American Public Life is the hospital indemnity plan provider for New Caney ISD employees, effective 9/1/10. For plan and rate information click on the benefit highlights tab / HIP


  8. NEW! Identity theft protection is being offered this year through ID Watchdog to employees and their families, effective 9/1/10. For plan and rate information click on Benefits & Forms / Identity Theft.


  9. Life: Dearborn National is the group term life and AD&D provider for New Caney ISD employees, effective 9/1/10. For plan and rate information click on the benefit highlights tab / Life


  10. Supplemental plan offerings to New Caney ISD employees for 2009-2010 plan year include: Guardian Dental Plan, CompBenefits Vision, Unum Educator Plan Disability, Loyal American Cancer, Fort Dearborn Term Life and AD&D, American Public Life Hospital Indemnity Plan and Flexible Spending Accounts.
